Maggie Gyllenhaal, 31, married Peter Sarsgaard, 38, Saturday in Italy, according to People.com.
Peter and Maggie have a 2 1/2-year-old daughter together. They announced their engagement and pregnancy in 2006 after being a couple for more than four years, People said.Their celebration took place in a chapel called Brindisi. Jake Gyllenhaal and Reese Witherspoon were among the guests.
Maggie and Peter costarred in the movie In God’s Hands in 2003. Shortly after Maggie starred in the movie Secretary, Marie Claire interviewed Maggie when she was still sporting her diamond engagement ring. New York City, New York, is where Maggie was born. A critic there described her by saying, “There isn’t an American actress in movies today who holds the screen with as much deep-seated soul.”
Maggie recently starred in The Dark Knight. Peter starred in Jarhead with Maggie’s brother Jake.
Last week, celebrities Salma Hayek and Francoi-Henri Pinault also were married in Italy.
